Diversity of caddisflies (Trichoptera) in streams of the Šumava Mts.

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo shromáždit všechny publikované a nepublikované informace o výskytu chrostíků na území Šumavy, vytvořit z těchto dat databázi nálezů a následně popsat druhovou bohatost chrostíků na tomto území. Byla shromážděna data od 16 autorů a 2 projektů, díky kterým se podařilo vytvořit databázi, která čítá přes 3500 faunistických záznamů. Zaznamenávány byly pouze nálezy, které byly určeny do druhu. U většiny nálezů bylo možné lokalitu definovat GPS souřadnicí. Pro tyto lokality bylo možné získat informace o klimatických proměnných prostředí, hydrologickém pořadí a řádu toku, které byly využity k dalším analýzám. Na území geomorfologického celku Šumava bylo nalezeno 181 druhů chrostíků z 20 čeledí. Šumava tedy hostí téměř 70 % celkové druhové bohatosti chrostíků v České republice a fauna chrostíků zde má největší diverzitu v rámci všech zatím sledovaných národních parků a chráněných území v České republice. Největší druhové zastoupení zde mají čeledi Limnephilidae, Leptoceridae a Hydropsychidae. Z nalezených druhů jen mírně převažují druhy tekoucích vod, avšak druhy stojatých vod jsou zde zastoupeny v překvapivě vysokém počtu. Šumava také je hostí 21 druhů z některé z kategorií obecného ohrožení (CR, EN, VU) a 24 téměř ohrožených druhů (NT). Byla popsána druhová bohatost chrostíků v různých typech biotopů, dostupné proměnné prostředí nicméně nekorelovaly s druhovou bohatostí lokalit v rámci sledovaného území.

Abstract:

The main aims of this thesis were to (i) gather all published and available unpublished data on the occurrence of caddisflies species (Trichoptera) in the Šumava Mts. (Czech part of the Bohemian Forest), (ii) create a database of all records of species, and (iii) describe caddisfly species richness of different localities in this area. Data from 16 authors and 2 projects were assembled to create a database including more than 3500 faunistic records. Only records on species level were included. Localities of most records were defined by GPS coordinates. These localities were supplemented by climatic variables, hydrological code of stream and stream order, which were used for further analysis. Altogether 181 caddisflies species belonging to 20 families were found in the Šumava Mts. Comparing with the species richness of caddisflies in the Czech Republic, the Šumava Mts. hosts almost 70 % of all species known from the Czech Republic and it is the most diverse area from all studied national parks and protected landscape areas in the Czech republic. Most species found were from the families of Limnephilidae, Leptoceridae and Hydropsychidae. Lotic species were slightly more numerous; however, lentic species were surprisingly species rich. Altogether 45 species found belonged to either IUCN red-list category (CR, EN, VU, NT), 24 of them were categorised as nearthreatened (NT). Species richness of different habitats were described. Environmental predictors used in the analysis were not correlated with the species richness of localities investigated.
