The use of potential of cultural houses at Liberec region

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je představení fenoménu takzvaných "kulturáků". Po roce 1989 začaly do té doby masivně budované, často prostorově předimenzované kulturní domy představovat ekonomický problém. Nyní je nutné hledat alternativní řešení a maximálně využít jejich potenciál. Využití při dosažení ekonomického zisku se ale nedaří některým domům dodnes. Znamená to, že jsou tyto nemovitosti opravdu těžko využitelné a jejich multifunkčnost je spíše na obtíž? Teoretická část práce se věnuje základním pojmům, ideovým účelům kulturních domů ve 20. století a dále i na funkci (roli) kulturních domů po roce 1989. Praktická část se skládá z analýzy a následné komparace vybraných kulturních domů v Libereckém kraji, konkrétně pak KD Střelnice Turnov, KD Golf Semily a KD Chrastava. Cílem práce je kritické zhodnocení přínosů jednotlivých kulturních domů pro města Semily, Turnov a Chrastavu. Dalším cílem je podrobná analýza vývoje vybraných kulturních domů jak z pohledu historického, tak ekonomického a sociokulturního. Součástí výstupů práce je SWOT analýza kulturních domů a odhalení skrytého potenciálu domů včetně autorských návrhů lepšího využití.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the phenomenon of so-called cultural houses. Massively built, often oversized culture houses started representing economic issues after the year 1989. It is necessary to look for an alternative solution and to maximize their potential. Some cultural houses still fail to search for its good usability while reaching economic profit. Does it mean however that these properties are so hardly used, and their multifunction is rather difficult?The theoretical part is focused on basic concepts and ideological purposes of the cultural houses in the 20th century and their role after the year 1989. Practical part consists of analysis and comparison of chosen cultural houses at Liberec region, namely CH Střelnice Turnov, CH Golf Semily and CH Chrastava. The aim of this thesis is critical evaluation of their communal benefits. Secondary aim of this thesis is detailed analysis of evolution of these cultural houses from the historical, economical, and sociocultural point of view. The final part of this thesis contains SWOT analysis and exploration of their hidden potential, which includes the author's own suggestions for better utilization of these properties.
