This master's diploma thesis deals with the philological analysis of a collection of fairy tales Kinder- und Hausmärchen (1819) by the Brothers Grimm. In the thesis, the concept of fairy tale is defined from other related terms. The development of this genre in Europe is defined as well. Táto magisterská diplomová práca sa zaoberá filologickou analýzou zbierky rozprávok Kinder- und Hausmärchen (1819) od bratov Grimmovcov. V práci je vymedzený pojem rozprávky od iných príbuzných pojmov. Taktiež je charakterizovaný vývoj tohto žánru v Európe.
