Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na nemocnice v římských vojenských táborech. Geografickým vymezením je oblast římského limitu po toku Rýna v provincii Germania Inferior. Časově se práce zaobírá obdobím od raného principátu do dominátu. Pozornost bude kladena na to, ve kterých táborech nemocnice stály, zda se stavěly pouze v legionářkých táborech (castrum) nebo i v táborech pomocných jednotek (castellum). Podle čeho jsme nebo nejsme schopni rozpoznat nemocnici v kastelu, jaká máme východiska a jaké prameny. Mají-li jednotné architektonické znaky nebo stejnou pozici v táborech. Jaké bylo jejich rozmístění v síti táborů a souvisí-li s vojenskými kampaněmi vedenými v daných oblastech, s přírodními podmínkami, či s velikostí táborů. Podle jakých jiných znaků lze rozpoznat, že se jedná o nemocnici (archeologické nálezy lékařských nástrojů, písemné zmínky o léčbě zraněných, epigrafické nálezy). Existuje závislost výskytu nemocnic na původu auxiliární jednotky? Jak se jejich vývoj měnil po architektonické stránce v průběhu let a jaké bylo jejich druhotné využití.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on hospitals in Roman military camps. The geographical boundary is the area of the Roman limit along the Rhine in the province of Germania Inferior. Chronologically, the thesis deals with the period from the early Principate to the Dominate. The focus will be on which camps the hospitals stood in, whether they were built only in legionary camps (castrum) or also in the camps of auxiliary units (castellum). By what we are or are not able to identify a hospital in a castellum, what starting points we have and what sources. If they have uniform architectural features or the same position in the camps. What was their distribution in the network of camps and if it is related to the military campaigns waged in the areas, to the natural conditions, or to the size of the camps. By what other features can it be identified as a hospital (archaeological finds of medical instruments, written references to the treatment of the wounded, epigraphic finds). Is there a dependence of the occurrence of hospitals on the origin of the auxiliary unit? How did their development change architecturally over the years and what was their secondary use.
