Examination of gastric emptying

Abstract:

Práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá základní anatomií, fyziologií žaludku a chorobami, které jsou indikací k provedení tohoto vyšetření. Dále se teoretická část zabývá účinky ionizujícího záření na lidský organismus, ochranou radiologických asistentů před zářením a následně popisuje samotné vyšetření žaludku. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, zdali je aplikovaná aktivita na Klinice nukleární medicíny LF MU v Brně v souladu s diagnostickou referenční úrovní. Dílčí cíle pomohly objasnit, s jakými potížemi lidé nejčastěji přicházejí na toto vyšetření, zda jsou častěji vyšetřováni muži nebo ženy, jaké je věkové složení pacientů přicházejících k vyšetření pasáže žaludku a kolik lidí odcházelo domů s výsledkem zrychlené, normální či zpomalené evakuace. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty výsledky praktické části a význam tohoto málo dostupného vyšetření.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the thesis describes basic anatomy and physiology of a stomach and presents indications for the diagnostic procedure. Further, the theoretical part is also focused on the effects of ionizing radiation on human body, protection of radiology assistants against radiation and the diagnostic procedure of stomach itself. The main goal of the thesis was to identify, whether the activity used by the Clinic of nuclear medicine LF MU in Brno, corresponds with the diagnostic referential criteria. Secondary goals helped to clarify, what symptoms are the main reasons for patients to undergo this procedure, which gender is more affected, what the age groups that come for stomach examination are and how many of these people were diagnosed with slow, normal or fast bowel movement. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes the results of the practical part as well as the importance of this rarely available examination.
