Evaluation of selected factors influencing the reproductive indicators of Czech Fleckvieh heifers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Zhodnocení vybraných faktorů působících na reprodukční ukazatele jalovic českého strakatého skotu byla zpracována v podniku PODORLICKO a. s. Mistrovice. Byly sledovány jalovice českého strakatého skotu narozené leden 2018 až prosinec 2019. Bylo zjištěno, že narozené jalovice z dvojčat měly horší hodnoty reprodukčních ukazatelů. Naopak kříženky českého strakatého plemene s dalšími plemeny měly lepší hodnoty reprodukčních ukazatelů. Také jalovice s vyšším průměrným denním přírůstkem od narození měly průkazně nižší inseminační index. Jalovice byly nejčastěji poprvé inseminovány ve věku 14 – 15 měsíců a zabřezly nejčastěji ve věku 14 – 16 měsíců. Což jsou na kombinované plemeno výborné výsledky, ale z interinseminačního indexu je patrné, že je v podniku nedostatečná detekce říje a i vyšší výskyt embryonální mortality. Na základě těchto výsledků, bylo navrženo doporučení pro daný podnik v podobě vhodnějšího managementu odchovu a ustájení, kvalitnější detekce říje a investice do technického vybavení stáje případně její stavební úpravy s cílem dosáhnout ještě lepších hodnot reprodukčních ukazatelů, zlepšit welfare jalovic a snížit náklady na odchov.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis Evaluation of selected factors influencing the reproductive indicators of Czech Fleckvieh heifers was prepared in the company PODORLICKO a. s. Mistrovice. There were monitored Czech Fleckfieh heifers born from January 2018 to December 2019. It was found that the heifers born of twins had worse values of the reproductive indicators. On the contrary, crossbreeds of Czech Fleckvieh with other breeds had better values of reproduction indicators. Heifers with a higher average weight gain from birth also had a significantly lower insemination index. Heifers were most often inseminated at the age of 14 – 15 months and became pregnant at the age of 14 – 16 months. These are excellent results for dual purpose breed, but the interinsemination index shows that there is insufficient oestrus detection in the company and a higher incidence of embryonic death. Based on these results, there was proposed a recommendation for the company in the form of more appropriate management of breeding and housing, better detection of heat and investment of technical equipment of the stable or its construction modifications in order to achieve even better reproductive performance, improve heifer welfare and reduce costs of rearing.
