Bakalářká práce je v první části zaměřena na filozofa, ale i politika a ekonoma, Johna Stuarta Milla. Jsou zde popsány jeho základní postoje a myšlenky, ale především je rozvíjena jeho esej Poddanství žen. v druhé části je práce nejprve zaměřena na celkovou situaci žen v 19. století v Anglii i u nás, s uvedením několika významných osobností. The first part of the bachelor thesis focused on philosopher, politician and economist John Stuart Mill. His thoughts, basic attitudes are described in the work and his essay The Subjection of Women is analysed too.The second part focuses firstly on the general situation of women 19th century in England and Czech countries with the presentation of significant personalities.
