Computational Thinking in the Czech Secondary School Education System

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou podkladů pro výuku informatiky na středních školách v České republice, které porovnává s názory a znalostmi žáků. Cílem této práce je ověřit IT znalosti žáků středních škol a zjistit jejich názory na aktuální stav výuky informatiky na jejich školách. Na základě získaných informací práce porovnává plánované znalosti absolventa s realitou. K dosažení cílů jsou použity metody dotazníkového šetření a znalostního testu. Výzkum probíhal ve čtyřech školách v oblasti Prahy, a sice na gymnáziu, dvou středních odborných školách a jednom středním odborném učilišti. Bylo zjištěno, že žákům výuka informatiky nevyhovuje, považují ji za zastaralou. Při ověřování znalostí byly výsledky neuspokojivé, ale jednalo se však o témata, která by žáci rádi viděli více ve výuce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the resource materials for teaching informatics in secondary schools in the Czech Republic, which is compared with the opinions and knowledge of students. The aim of this thesis is to verify the IT knowledge of secondary school pupils and to find out their opinions on the current state of informatics teaching in their schools. Based on the information obtained, the thesis compares the projected knowledge of the graduate with the reality. Questionnaire survey and knowledge test methods are used to achieve the objectives. The research was conducted in four schools in the Prague area, namely a grammar school and three different types of vocational secondary schools. It was found that pupils were not satisfied with the teaching of computer science, they considered it outdated. The results of knowledge testing were unsatisfactory, but these were topics that pupils would like to see more of in the curriculum.
