Use of crushed waste rubber tires as a filler in geopolymer

Abstract:

Bylo testováno využití odpadní pryžové drti z pneumatik jako plniva do geopolymeru. Testovány byly dvě frakce pryžové drti lišící se velikostí částic.Byla připravena zkušební tělesa geopolymerů s různými obsahy pryžové drti. U zkušebních těles obou frakcí pryžové drti byly provedeny testy pevnosti v tlaku a u tělísek obsahujících jemnější frakci pryžové drti bylo provedeno měření houževnatosti. Dále byly provedeny vyluhovací testy připravených zkušebních těles v destilované vodě a ve výluzích byly stanoveny hodnoty pH, elektrické konduktivity, koncentrace zinku a celkového organického uhlíku. Z geopolymeru obsahujícího 25 % odpadní pryžové drti byla připravena dlaždice, která byla umístěna do chodníku pro dlouhodobé sledování odolnosti vůči povětrnostním podmínkám.

Abstract:

The use crushed waste rubber from tires as a filler in the geopolymer was tested. Two fractions of the crushed rubber with different particle sizes were used for the tests. Test specimens of geopolymers with different contents of crushed rubble were prepared and their compressive strength were measured. The specimens containing the finner frac-tion of the crushed rubber were also tested for toughness. Further, the leachaing of the test specimens in distiled water was carried out and values of pH, electic conductivity, concen-tration of zinc and total organic carbon in the extracts were determined. A tile from geo-polymer mixture containing 25 % of waste crushed rubber was prepared. The tile was placed on the pavement for long-term monitoring for resistance to weather conditions.
