Polynenasycené mastné kyseliny mohou různými způsoby ovlivňovat imunitní a zánětlivé reakce. Jednou z funkcí leukocytů, kterou mohou PUFA ovlivňovat, je fagocytóza. Abstract:
Polyunsaturated fatty acids have various effects on immune and inflammatory responses. One of the leukocyte functions that could be modulated by PUFAs is phagocytosis. These fatty acids can in vitro stimulate the process of phagocytosis, for example formation of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species.
