Public attitudes towards crime and its control

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na postoje veřejnosti ke kriminalitě a její kontrole. Teoretická část se zabývá definicí základních pojmů, které mají danou strukturu. Charakterizuje různé postoje člověka a změny s tím spojené, které souvisí s postupným nabytím životní zkušenosti. Práce pojednává o faktorech, které ovlivňují postoje vůči dalším osobám a možným hrozbám, jakými jsou předsudek a stereotyp. Dále zkoumá postoje občanů ke kriminalitě závislé na vnějších zdrojích přísunu informací, s nimiž souvisí pojem punitivita a punitivní postoje. V práci se pokusíme ujasnit měření punitivity a pojednání o alternativních trestech, se kterými je spojen postoj veřejného mínění k trestu domácího vězení. Obsahem praktické části je vlastní šetření, ve kterém porovnáme informovanost dotazovaných respondentů o trestech a postojích k trestům alternativním, zejména domácího vězení. Zkoumanou skupinou je Policie ČR a studenti z policejní akademie a regionálního rozvoje.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on public attitudes to crime and its control. The theoretical part deals with the definition of basic terms that have a given structure. It characterizes various attitudes of a person and the changes associated with it, which are related to the gradual acquisition of life experience. The thesis deals with factors that influence attitudes towards other people and possible threats, such as prejudice and stereotype. It also examines to crime dependent on external sources of information. Which are related to the cencept of punitive and punitive attitudes. In this work wewill try to clarify the measurement of punctuality and the treatment of alternative punishments, which are associated with the attitude of public opinion to the sentence of house arrest. The content of the practical part of this bachelor thesis is the survey itself, in which we compare of respondents about punishments and attitudes to alternative punishments, especially house arrest. The researches group is the Police of the Czech Republic and students from the Police Academy and Regional Development.
