Abstract:

Lidé a paraziti spolu interagovali od dob posledního společného předka člověka po celou dobu přechodu Beringova mostu a druhé pandemie moru až do současnosti. Účinky parazitů nejen na lidské tělo, ale i na lidskou evoluci lze pozorovat napříč biologickými i kulturními aspekty. Tato bakalářská práce je napsána formou literárního přehledu aktuálně dostupné literatury na základě 21 základních článků a s využitím strategie sněhové koule pro sběr dalších důležitých odkazů. Výsledky vycházející ze shromážděných poznatků rozdělují parazity na ektoparazity (vnější parazity) a endoparazity či helminty (vnitřní parazity), avšak kategorizaci na parazity „heirloom“ (šíření z Afriky usnadnila lidská migrace) a parazity „suvenýry“. (migrace umožnila těmto organismům infikovat lidi, když se pohybovali po celém světě). Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá způsob a důsledky této probíhající interakce mezi lidstvem a jeho parazity prostřednictvím zkoumání životních cyklů a původu parazitů, jejich vlivů na lidskou minulost a nemocí pramenících z jejich infekce.

Abstract:

Humans and parasites have been interacting since the times of the last common human ancestor all through the crossing of the Bering Bridge and the Second pandemic of plague up until now. The effects of parasites on not only human body but on human evolution can be seen across both the biological and cultural aspects. This bachelor thesis is written in the form of a literary review of the currently available literature using the basis of 21 core papers and using the snowball strategy for collecting other vital references. The results stemming from the collected knowledge divide the parasites into ectoparasites (external parasites) and endoparasites or helminths (internal parasites), however, the categorization into ’heirloom’ parasites (the spread from Africa was facilitated by human migration) and ’souvenir’ parasites (the migration enabled these organisms to infect humans as they moved around the globe). This bachelor thesis explores the manner and consequences of this ongoing interaction between humankind and its parasites by looking into parasitic lifecycles and origin, their influences on the human past and the diseases stemming from their infection.
