Cílem této práce je prozkoumat explicitační a implicitační posuny v překladu uvozovacích sloves, a tak ověřit platnost hypotézy asymetrie. Práce se nejdříve zaměří na ozřejmění konceptů explicitace, implicitace a operativní asymetrie a pak představí a porovná anglické a slovenské konvence v používání uvozovacích sloves. This thesis investigates the validity of the asymmetry hypothesis (AH) by examining explicitation and implicitation shifts in translation of reporting verbs (RVs). After some theoretical background, the conventions regarding RVs in the two researched languages, English and Slovak, are discussed and compared.
