The city of Olomouc: population development and structure.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou vývoje obyvatelstva města Olomouce. První část práce je zaměřena na dobu do poloviny 19. století, která je hodnocena ve vazbě na historické události. Druhá část se zabývá hodnocením období moderního sčítání lidu v letech 1869 až 1991 pomocí bazických a řetězových indexů. Třetí část práce zpracovává proces demografické měny v letech 1991 až 2008 a strukturu obyvatelstva v letech 1991, 2001 a 2008 ve vztahu k transformaci společnosti v 90. letech 20. století. Závěr práce se zamýšlí nad demografickým stárnutím populace a možným budoucím vývojem. Základní metodou práce je komparativní analýza.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on problems concerning the evolution of population of the city of Olomouc. The first part is aimed on the period until the first part of the 19th century, which is evaluated in connection with historical events. The second part deals with evaluating the period of modern census from 1869 to 1991 by means of basic and chain indexes. The third part covers the process of demographic changes that appeared from 1991 to 2008 and the structure of population in the years 1991, 2001 and 2008 in relation to the societal transformation in the 1990s. The conclusion contemplates demographic aging of population and possible future evolution of population. The main method of the thesis is comparative analysis.
