The influence of external factors on the entry of a new pharmacy into the market in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Podnikatelské prostředí České republiky je velmi dynamické a základem úspěchu firem je schopnost přizpůsobit se změnám a reagovat na vnější a vnitřní podněty. Schopnost podniků ovlivňovat makrookolí je velmi omezená, a proto je analýza vnějších faktorů a schopnost ohodnotit jejich dopad na konkrétní společnost stěžejní pro přežití firmy na trhu. Cílem diplomové práce je provést analýzu politických, ekonomických, sociálních, technologických, legislativních a enviromentálních faktorů, které působí na lékárny v České republice. Vyhodnocení významností jednotlivých faktorů bylo provedeno pomocí metody párového srovnání. Výsledky analýzy ukazují, že i přes zvyšující se výdaje domácnosti za volně prodejní léky, léky na recept a podporu českých lékárníků ze strany mezinárodních organizací, není podnikatelské prostředí České republiky pro vstup nových lékáren příznivé. Mezi hlavní důvody lze zařadit především nedostatečnou státní regulaci, dále také podfinancování oboru a horší stav infrastruktury.

Abstract:

The business environment of the Czech Republic is very dynamic, and the success of companies depends on their ability to adapt to changes and respond to external and internal impulses. The ability of companies to influence the macro environment is very limited, and therefore the analysis of external factors and the evaluation of their impact on a specific company on the market is crucial for the company's survival. The objective of the thesis is to analyse the political, economic, social, technological, legislative, and environmental factors that affect pharmacies in the Czech Republic and to evaluate whether it is appropriate to enter this market. The importance of the specific factors was evaluated using the pairwise comparison method. The results of the analysis show that despite increasing household spending on drugs and the support of the Czech pharmacists from international organizations, the business environment of the Czech Republic is not favourable for the entry of new pharmacies. Among the main reasons can be included insufficient state regulation, as well as underfunding of the field and the worse infrastructure.
