Stefan Zweig - Women from his Life and his Work

Abstract:

The Master’s Thesis Stefan Zweig – the women from his life and his work deals with the interesting but tragic fate one of the most successful german writing autor of the 20th century. There were three fatal women in the life of Stefan Zweig: his mother and his two wives, who had significantly influenced his life as well as his work. The aim of this thesis is to illustrate each life periods of Stefan Zweig, next to describe personality and character of his mother and two wives in details and last but not least to analyse women characters in the chosen pieces of work and according to the gained results to point out which woman from Zweig’s personal life had mostly stand as a model for his literary heroines.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Stefan Zweig – ženy z jeho života a díla se zabývá poutavým, ale tragickým osudem jednoho z nejúspěšnějších německy píšících autorů 20.století. V životě Stefan Zweiga se objevují tři zásadní ženy: matka a jeho dvě ženy, které významně ovlivnily nejen jeho osobní život, ale i dílo. Cílem této práce je nejdříve přiblížit jednotlivé životní etapy Stefana Zweiga, dále důkladně popsat osobnost a charakter jeho matky a dvou žen a v neposlední řadě ve vybraných dílech analyzovat ženské postavy a na základě získaných poznatků určit, která žena z Zweigova osobního života stála nejčastěji předlohou pro jeho literární hrdinky.
