Music Education in the Czech Republic and Taiwan: A Comparison

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na porovnání systémů hudebního vzdělávání v České republice a na Taiwanu. S ohledem na hudební historii a tradice obou zemí jsou popsány základy i rozdíly obsahu hudební výchovy v České republice a na Taiwanu. Vzhledem k tomu, že hudba je často používána jako prvek udržování tradic a identity lidí, práce se zaměřuje na důležitost hudebního vzdělávání v těchto regionech. V první polovině práce bude nastíněn vývoj hudebního vzdělávání v minulosti a poté bude vysvětlen současný stav hudebního vzdělávání v České republice a na Taiwanu. Druhá polovina se skládá z následné analýzy vztahu mezi hudbou a hudebním vzděláváním českých a tchajwanských studentů.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the comparison of the music education systems in the Czech Republic and in Taiwan. By taking the music history and traditions of both countries into account, the fundamentals as well as the differences of the content of music lessons in the Czech Republic and in Taiwan are described. Given that music is often used as an element to maintain people’s traditions and identity, the thesis focuses on the importance of music education in these regions. In the first half of the thesis, the development of music education in the past will be outlined, and then the current stage of music education in the Czech Republic and Taiwan will be explained. The second half consists of subsequent analysis of the relationship between music and music education of Czech and Taiwanese students.
