Agile Transformation of the Company - Selection of a scaled agile framework

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou agilní transformace. Hlavním cílem práce je výběr agilního škálovatelného rámce pro konkrétní společnost. Práce nejprve teoreticky popisuje čtyři nejpoužívanější agilní škálovatelné rámce SAFe, SoS, LeSS a DAD, z kterých je následně vybrán nejvhodnější rámec pro zvolenou společnost. Výběr rámce je proveden na základě kritérií, které určila společnost a s využitím vícekriteriální analýzy variant. Z výsledků analýzy je patrné, že nejvhodnějším rámcem pro vybranou společnost je SAFe, který obdržel nejvíce bodů ze všech zkoumaných rámců. Dílčí cíl práce je zaměřen na identifikaci rizik agilní transformace společnosti. Rizika jsou identifikována pomocí literárních rešerší a poté jsou v rámci analýzy rizik vztažena na vybranou společnost. Z analýzy rizik byla zjištěna čtyři kritická rizika, kterými jsou neochota managementu přijmout změnu, neporozumění agilním konceptům, obecný odpor ke změně a vysoká pracovní zátěž. Tato rizika byla podrobena detailnější analýze příčin a následně byla navrhnuta souhrnná opatření na jejich omezení. Mezi navrhnutá opatření mimo jiné patří zviditelnění podpory managementu, komunikace důvodů transformace a vytvoření konkrétních cílů. Opatření jsou následně doplněna o další doporučení pro vývoj transformace společnosti například v oblasti vize, fungování Agilního kompetenčního centra a přizpůsobování agilního rámce.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of agile transformation. The main goal of this work is to select a scaling agile framework for the specific company. The thesis first theoretically describes the four most used scaling agile frameworks SAFe, SoS, LeSS and DAD, from which the most suitable framework is selected for the company. The selection of the framework is based on criteria determined by the company and by multi-criteria analysis of variants. The results of the analysis show that the most suitable framework for the selected company is SAFe, which received the most points of all the examined frameworks. The partial goal of the work is to focus on the identification of risks of agile transformation of the company. Risks are identified by using literature searches and then they are related to the selected company as part of the risk analysis. The risk analysis identified four critical risks, which are management's reluctance to accept change, misunderstanding of agile concepts, general resistance to change and high workload. These risks were subjected to a more detailed analysis of the causes. Subsequently, the comprehensive measures were proposed to reduce these risks. The proposed measures include, among other things, raising the profile of management support, communicating the reasons for transformation and creating specific goals. The measures are then supplemented by further recommendations for the development of the company's transformation, for example in the area of vision, the functioning of the Agile Competence Center and the adaptation of the agile framework.
