Wood-destroying fungi in chosen parks in the town of Opava

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce bylo zhodnotit zastoupení dřevokazných hub ve dvou největších a nejnavštěvovanějších parcích Opavy, v Městských sadech a prstenci parků kolem centra města. Výzkum probíhal od dubna do listopadu roku 2010. Celkem bylo zaznamenáno 13 druhů dřevokazných hub na 22 živých stromech a 23 pařezech. Nejčastěji napadenými dřevinami byly lípy Tilia spp., infikované zejména vřeckovýtrusou houbou Kretzschmaria deusta. Dalšími napadenými dřevinami byly Acer platanoides, Quercus robur a Fraxinus excelsior. Na živých dřevinách byla častěji zaznamenána Ganoderma adspersum, na pařezech byly nejčastější Ganoderma applanatum, Gloeophyllum odoratum, Meripilus giganteus, Schizophyllum commune a další. Dále byly vytipovány rizikové dřeviny, u nichž hrozí vyvrácení nebo zlomení kmene a to především za silnějšího větru. Většina z nich se nachází v Městských sadech.

Abstract:

The main aim of this bachelor thesis was to evaluate the species diversity of wood-decaying fungi in two largest and the most frequented parks within the town of Opava ? Městské sady and the complex of six smaller parks in the town centre. The field research was carried out between April and November 2010. In total, 13 species of wood-decaying fungi were found on 22 living trees and 23 stumps. The most frequently attacked woody plants were limes Tilia spp. which were invaded mostly by Kretzschmaria deusta. The other attacked tree species were Acer platanoides, Quercus robur and Fraxinus excelsior. Another prominent fungus growing on living trees was Ganoderma adspersum. Stumps were decomposed by Ganoderma applanatum, Gloeophyllum odoratum, Meripilus giganteus and Schizophyllum commune. Also multiple trees at risk of breaking or uprooting, mainly during strong wind, were identified. Most of the hazardous trees were found in the Městské sady.
