The use of nutrient containing superabsorbent polymers in the nutrition of maize crop

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá zhodnocením vlivu aplikace superabsorpčních polymerů (SAP) nasycených živinami na kvantitativní a kvalitativní parametry zrna kukuřice seté (Zea mays L.). Polní pokus byl proveden formou maloparcelkového pokusu na Školním zemědělském podniku Žabčice. Hydrogel byl aplikován před setím v několika varian-tách. Hydrogel se skládal ze superabsorpčního polymeru, zeolitu, přírodního hydroab-sorbentu, případně i hnojiva. Po sklizni byl stanoven z kvantitativních parametrů výnos zrna a hmotnost tisíce zrn (HTZ), z kvalitativních parametrů obsah škrobu a hrubých bílkovin v zrnu. Kromě varianty hnojení amofosem měly ostatní varianty statisticky prů-kazný vliv na výnos oproti nehnojené kontrole. Statisticky průkazný byl vliv hnojení na HTZ, kdy nejvyšších hodnot dosahovala varianta hydrogel + NPKS. Naopak hnojení nevedlo ke statisticky průkaznému ovlivnění obsahu škrobu v zrnu. Statisticky průkaz-nému zvýšení obsahu hrubých bílkovin došlo při variantě hnojení hydrogel + NPKS. Mimo variantu hnojení s aplikací hydrogelu byly ostatní varianty hnojení ekonomicky ztrátové.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the evaluation of the effect of nutrient-containing superabsorbent polymers (SAP) on qualitative and quantitative parameters of seeds of maize plants (Zea mays L.). The field experiment was conducted in Žabčice (South Moravia, Czech Re-public). The hydrogel was applied before sowing. Hydrogel consisted of superabsorbent polymer, zeolite, natural hydro-absorbent, and potentially a fertilizer. The evaluation of the effect of application was based on quantitative parameters, such as grain yield and thousand-grain weight (TGW), and qualitative parameters, such as starch content and cereal grain crude protein. Except for the variant of fertilization with ammophos, all other variants had a statistically significant effect on the grain yield in the comparison with the non-fertilized variant. The effect of fertilization on thousand-grain yield (TGW) was statistically significant, whereas the variant of fertilization of hydrogel + NPKS resulted in the highest values. Conversely, fertilization had no statis-tically significant effect on starch content. A statistically significant increase in cereal grain crude protein was observed after fertilization with hydrogel + NPKS. Except for the variant of fertilization with hydrogel, all other variants of fertilization resulted in an economic loss.
