Privacy Policy (GDPR) and its impact on business in the hotel and spa Industries

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou vybraného penzionu zhlediska zpracování osobních údajů. V teoretické části této práce jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy a povinnosti týkající se ochrany osobních údajů v České republice, které souvisejí s evropským nařízením GDPR a již neplatným zákonem 101/2000 Sb. o ochraně osobních údajů. Analytická část této práce se nejprve zabývá dopady evropského nařízení na hotelnictví a lázeňství, dále je uvedena charakteristika vybraného penzionu XY a analýza stavu ochrany osobních údajů před implementací GDPR. Zjištěné nesoulady ve zpracování údajů jsou shrnuty v GAP analýze, která je výchozím zdrojem pro implementaci jednotlivých povinností a nápravu těchto nesouladů podle Obecného nařízení. Následuje zhodnocení celého procesu implementace GDPR a krátké statistické shrnutí situace GDPR ve firmách ve světě. Informace z analytické části jsou zdrojem pro vytvoření návrhové části, v níž jsou nejprve uvedena doporučení pro penzion XY v souvislosti s GDPR. Další návrhy se týkají všeobecných doporučení pro firmy v českém prostředí, které se potýkají s problémy při implementaci evropského nařízení. Tato doporučení jsou strukturována do příručky.

Abstract:

This Master’s dissertation deals with the analysis of the selected guesthouse from the point of view of personal data processing. The theoretical part of this dissertation explains the basic terms and obligations related to the protection of personal data in the Czech Republic following the european general regulation (GDPR) and the already invalid Act 101/2000 Coll. The analytical part of this dissertation first deals with the impact of the european regulation on the hotel and spa industry, there is also a characteristic of the guesthouse XY and an analysis of the protection of personal data before GDPR implementation. The incompatibilities found in data processing are summarized in the GAP analysis, which is the default source for implementing the individual obligations and correcting those incompatibilities under the General Regulation. Next part consists of an evaluation of the whole process of implementation GDPR and includes short statistics on GDPR compliance in the world. The results from the analytical part form the source for the suggestion part, where are first listed the recommendations for the guesthouse XY, which still does not have all activities of data processing in accordance with GDPR. Other suggestions represent general recommendations for companies in the Czech Republic that still deal with some problems in the process of implementation of the european regulation. These recommendations are structured in a manual.
