Utilization of Positioning with a Dog in Social Services

Abstract:

Canisterapie je v sociálních službách využívána stále častěji, a proto jsem se této problematice rozhodla věnovat i ve své bakalářské práci. Zaměřila jsem se na polohování v canisterapii. Cílem práce je zjistit specifika používaných metod polohování se psem při canisterapii. Výzkum proběhl za pomoci dotazníků rozesílaných emailem. Cílovou skupinou byli respondenti, kteří aktivně vykonávají canisterapii. Bylo zjištěno, že převažuje technika polohování, kdy je pes veden canisterapeutem. Nejčastěji je technika polohování využívána u dětí nebo seniorů. Polohování přináší positivní efekt jak na fyzické úrovni, tak na psychické. Do budoucnosti by bylo vhodné zaměřit se více na využívání techniky, kdy pes není veden canisterapeutem.

Abstract:

Canistherapy is used more and more often in social services, which is why I decided to address this issue in my bachelor's thesis. I focused on positioning in canistherapy. The aim of the work is to find out the specifics of the used methods of positioning with a dog during canistherapy. The research was conducted by questionnaires sent by email. The target group was respondents who are actively performing canistherapy. It was found that the positioning technique prevails, where the dog is led by a canistherapist. The positioning technique is most often used for children or seniors. Positioning has a positive effect on both the physical and mental levels. In the future, it would be appropriate to focus more on the use of technology where the dog is not led by a canistherapist.
