The canisterapy effect on the ederly suffering Alzheimer's disease as monitored at the retirement facility Čížkovice

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá působením canisterapie u seniorů s Alzheimerovou chorobu v Domově pro seniory Čížkovice. Do vzorku, který byl vhodný pro tento výzkum, byli zařazeni uživatelé sociálních služeb z výše zmíněného domova. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, teoretické a empirické. V teoretické části je popsáno stáří a jeho průběh, Alzheimerova choroba, stádia tohoto onemocnění. Zabývá se celkovým průběhem od anamnézy po léčbu. Závěrečnou kapitolou této části je popis canisterapie. Část empirická je realizována kvantitativní metodou pomocí testového dotazníku, který je přesně určen pro osoby s MCI nebo s počínající Alzheimerovou chorobou. Cílem této části je přispět ke stávajícím poznatkům o canisterapii probíhající u seniorů s AD a zjistit, zda pozitivně působí na jejich jednotlivé kognitivní oblasti. Na základě získaných dat byly vyhodnoceny výsledky, které byly popsány, vytvořena diskuze a závěr.

Abstract:

The topic this thesis deals with is canistherapy and its effects on seniors suffering from Alzheimer´s disease. The study was done on seniors living in Retirement home Čížkovice. The tesis consists of theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part considers two topics: senescence and its progress and Alzheimer´s disease and its stages. The thesis analyses how Alzheimer´s disease develops from the first symptoms to treatment. The last chapter of this part contains on detailed description of canistherapy. The empirical part is based on a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire has been specially designed for people suffering from first symptoms of Alzheimer´s disease and for people suffering from MCI and it consisted of closed-ended questions only. The goal of this part is to enrich contemporary knowledge of canistherapy effects on seniors suffering from Alzheimer´s disease and to find out if it helps to improve their cognitive funcitons. The obtained data were considered and evaluated thoroughly and the conclusion was drawn.
