Permeability of Borders in Euroregion Krušnohoří/Erzgebirge

Abstract:

„Hranice jsou jizvy dějin“ – tento výrok zakladatele prvního euroregionu v Evropě J. Gabbeho vystihuje současný názor většiny lidí v integrované Evropě. Po druhé světové válce došlo k nepropustnému uzavření hranic mezi dvěma odlišnými politickými systémy. Kolem hraniční čáry vznikla několikakilometrová ochranná území. Život v takovém pohraničním území podléhal zvláštnímu režimu. Avšak ani hranice mezi zeměmi socialistického společenství nebyly pouze symbolickým ohraničením obou států. Přecházet hranice bylo možno pouze na hraničních přechodech, které byly od sebe vzdáleny desítky kilometrů a to za přísné pasové a celní kontroly. Po roce 1989 se situace měnila velmi pomalu. Zde vyvstal nový problém a to byly velmi složité byrokratické postupy, kterými žadatelé o otevření hraničního přechodu museli projít. Autor této bakalářské práce vychází z odborné literatury, dokumentů a také z osobních zkušeností. Narodil se a žije v pohraničním městě Vejprty, ve kterém se v průběhu 15 let otevřely 3 hraniční přechody. V průběhu tvorby této práce došlo k neočekávanému zvratu – vstupu České republiky do Schengenského prostoru.

Abstract:

„Borders are the scars of history“ – this quotation of the founder of the first euroregion in Europe J.Gabbe describes the opinion of most people in integrated Europe. After the World War II. the border between the two different political systems was closed. Around the borderline a secured area of several kilometres arose. The life in this teritory was liable to special condition. Nevertheless, even the borders between the socialist countries were not just a symbolic one. It was possible to cross the borders only on the border checkpoints that were kilometres away with tight passport and customs controls. After 1989 the situation changed very slowly. A new problem arose, namely complicated bureaucratic procedures, that accompanied the newly opening checkpoints. The author of this bachelor thesis draws from professional literature, documents and also from personal experience. He was born and lives in the border town Vejprty, where during the last 15 years 3 checkpoints have been opened. During the elaboration a new event has appeared – the accession of the Czech Republic to the Schengen area.
