Old and modern fruit varieties in small-scale orcharding in microregion Kralicko

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce je identifikace rozsahu a významu extenzivního pěstování ovoce na Kralicku. V teoretické části práce byly rešeršním šetřením zjištěny informace o historii ovocnictví a environmentálních, ekonomických i sociálních aspektech samozásobitelství. Dále se práce v empirické části zabývá shromážděním informací o starých a moderních odrůdách pěstovaných v daném mikroregionu. Hlavní metodou výzkumu byly polostrukturované rozhovory s místními obyvateli. Z výsledků práce můžeme vypozorovat, že v dnešní době mají staré odrůdy stále u pěstitelů své místo, i když šlechtění nových odrůd neustává.

Abstract:

Main object of this thesis is identification of size and importance of extensive fruit cultivation in microregion Kralicko. Information in the theoretical part about history of fruit breeding and environmental, economical and social apects of subsistence have been found by investigating sources. The thesis is also dealt with the gathering of information about old and modern fruit varieties cultivated in the microregion. The main method of research were semi-structured interviews with local citizens. We can see that the result is: Today, although cultivating of new varieties do not stop, old varieties still have their place at orchardmans.
