Quantitative assessment of the risks of smoking and other lifestyle factors.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá kvantifikací rizik kouření a dalších faktorů životního stylu. Tento cíl se podařilo naplnit dohledáním odborné literatury, přesněji 49 zahraničních zdrojů a 17 českých, která byla následně přehledně shrnuta do tabulky. Věnovala se obecnému popisu kouření, kde byl věnován důraz na uvedení do celé této problematiky, byla vysvětlena historie kouření či složení tabákového kouře a také údaje o prevalenci kouření ve světě a v naší zemi. Další kapitoly měly za cíl vysvětlit důsledky kouření na lidské zdraví a přiblížit jednotlivé možné dopady, jako například nádorová onemocnění, choroby kardiovaskulárního systému, riziko kouření v těhotenství a další důsledky, které jsou spojeny s touto činností. Důraz zde byl kladen i na další rizikové faktory životního stylu, jako je nedostatek pohybu a nezdravá skladba stravy, kdy dopady těchto rizikových faktorů mohou mít za následek vznik kardiovaskulárních onemocnění, nádorových onemocnění nebo obezity a s tím spojená další metabolická onemocnění.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with quantifying the risks of smoking and other lifestyle factors. This aim was fulfilled by searching the literature, more precisely 49 foreign and 17 Czech sources, which were then summarized in a table. It was devoted to a general description of smoking, where emphasis was given to an introduction to the whole issue, the history of smoking or the composition of tobacco smoke was explained, as well as data on the prevalence of smoking in the world and in our country. Other chapters aimed to explain the consequences of smoking on human health and to give an overview of the different possible effects, such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, the risk of smoking during pregnancy and other consequences that are associated with this activity. Emphasis has also been placed on other lifestyle risk factors such as lack of exercise and unhealthy dietary composition, where the impact of these risk factors can result in cardiovascular disease, cancer or obesity and other associated metabolic diseases.
