Impacts of closed rural school for life in the village (community)

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice málotřídních škol a jejich sociokulturní funkci na venkově. Klade si za cíl popsat a zhodnotit dopady zániku málotřídky na život v obci Senice. Práce je uvedena teoretickým popisem života na českém venkově obecně. Dále pak popisuje historický vývoj základního školství se zaměřením na málotřídní školy, jejich funkci a výhody i nevýhody jejich existence v obci. Empirická část práce je zaměřena na výzkum dopadů zániku malotřídky na život v obci. V prvé řadě popisuje výběr metodologie výzkumu, vytyčuje hlavní a specifické výzkumné otázky. Dále charakterizuje zkoumanou obec a analyzuje získaná data. V závěru pak rozebírá konkrétní výsledky výzkumu. Hlavním výsledkem této práce je zjištění, že děti, které malotřídku navštěvovaly, mají v dospělosti hlubší vztah ke kulturnímu dění v obci a více se na něm podílejí. Dopady zániku málotřídky na sociokulturní život v obci lze tedy pozorovat až v delším časovém horizontu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of small rural schools and their social and cultural function at community. Its purpose is to describe and evaluate consequences of small rural school closure for the life in the village Senice. The thesis is introduced by a theoretical description of the life at countryside in the Czech Republic. As follows it describes the historical development of basic school system and it is focused on small rural schools, their function, advantages and disadvantages of their presence in the village. The empirical part of the thesis is focused on the research of the small rural school closure consequences for the life in community. At first it deals with the choice of the research methods. Afterwards it introduces the main and specifical researche questions. As follows describes the village Senice and the data analysis. Finaly, the thesis presents particular results of the research. The main result of the research is the finding out that the children who frequented small rural school in the past are more interested in the cultural life in the village and they participate more in it. The impact of small rural school closure on community can be observed in the longer term.
