Opportunities and limits during the using of social media in a process of employees searching and selection

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo odhalit příležitosti a limity ve využívání sociálních sítí, které personalisté vnímají v rámci procesu náboru a výběru zaměstnanců. Teoretická část vymezuje základní pojmy, jakými jsou personalistika, role personalistů a vnímání. Následující kapitoly vymezují proces náboru a výběru zaměstnanců včetně uvedení klasických metod náboru a selekce zaměstnanců. Doplňující je obecná kapitola o sociálních sítích, ve které je rovněž popsán význam práce se sociálními sítěmi v oblasti HR a zároveň je přiblížen potenciál využití tří nejrozšířenějších sociálních sítí – Facebook, Twitter a LinkedIn. V závěru teoretické části jsou shrnuty hlavní příležitosti a limity sociálních sítí, které vyplývají z předcházejících kapitol. K zodpovězení hlavní a dílčích výzkumných otázek autorka využila kvalitativní výzkumnou strategii a jako metodu sběru dat polostrukturované rozhovory. V metodologické části je vymezen výzkumný vzorek, postup sběru a zpracování dat, operacionalizace a možná omezení výzkumu. Empirická část se zabývá analýzou získaných dat, které autorce pomohly odpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku. Závěrem jsou charakterizovány jednotlivé příležitosti a limity, které personalisté vnímají při využívání sociálních sítí. S ohledem na výpovědi respondentů byla rovněž navržena doporučení, která mohou personalistům zefektivnit práci se sociálními sítěmi.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to identify opportunities and limits in the use of social networks that recruiters perceive in the process of recruitment and selection of employees. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts, such as human resources, recruiters role and perception. The following chapters outline the process of recruitment and selection including the classical methods of employees recruitment and selection. Additional is a chapter about social networks, where is also described the importance of working with social networks in the field of HR and at the same time the potential use of the three most popular social networks - Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The end of the theoretical section summarizes the main opportunities and limits of social networks consequential from the preceding chapters. Author used a qualitative research strategy and as a method of data collection semi-structured interview to answer the main research questions. In the metodology part the research sample is defined, as well as the procedure of collecting and processing data, operationalization and posibble limitations of the research. The empirical part analyzes the data obtained by the author which helpes to answer the research question. Finally the different opportunities and limits in the use of social network are characterized by that recruiters. According to respondents statements some of the recommendations were also submitted in order to make work with social network more effective.
