Firearms legislation in the Czech Republic in comparison with selected EU countries

Abstract:

Obsahem diplomové práce je komparace legislativy upravující oblast nabývání do vlastnictví, držení, nošení a použití střelných zbraní a střeliva v České republice, Slovenské republice a Rakouské republice s přihlédnutím k právu Evropské unie a jeho aktuálnímu vývoji. Cílem práce je na základě analýzy jednotlivých právních úprav a provedené komparace vyhodnotit, která ze zemí má nejlépe zpracovanou problematiku střelných zbraní ve vztahu k fyzickým osobám a navrhnout doporučení k dalšímu vývoji legislativy.

Abstract:

The main topic of the diploma thesis is the comparison of firearms legislation in the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Austria regarding weapons and ammunition acquisition, possession and carry. European Union laws and their current development are also taken into consideration. The aim of the thesis is to analyze firearms – related legislation in selected countries, compare them and finally evaluate which one of these countries covers this area of national law in the best way. Recommendations for future development of this legislation will also be made.
