NAIFF, Native And Indigenous Film Fest

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá filmovým festivalem NAIFF (Native And Indigenous Film Fest) a aplikuje na něj teorii sítí aktérů. Díky této teorii se práce dívá na festival z obecného rámce vnitřních a vnějších souvztažností a klade si za cíl zjistit, zda NAIFF má potenciál nejen přežít, ale hlavně růst, a to jak divácky, tak odborně. V prvé části práce vysvětluje festivalový okruh jako alternativní distribuční síť a klade si otázku, do jaké míry souvisí vůbec vznik a progres takto úzce profilovaného festivalu jako je NAIFF s existencí festivalového okruhu. Ten úzce souvisí i použitou teorií. V druhé, obsáhlejší části, pak provádí vlastní analýzu festivalu aplikací teorie sítí aktérů a sleduje v jaké míře je tato síť efektivní.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with NAIFF - Native And Indigenous Film Fest- and applies the Actor Network Theory on it. Thanks to this theory, this thesis is taking a look at the festival from a common frame of inner and outer correlations. The main objective of this thesis is to find out whether NAIFF has a potential not only to survive but also to grow, both visitor- and sciencewise. In the first part of the paper, the festival circuit is explained as an alternative distribution network and the question is raised: how much does the creation and the progress of such narrowly orientated festival as NAIFF relate to an existence of a festival circuit, which closely coheres with the theory used. In the second, more extensive part, the festival analysis takes place, using the Actor Network Theory while focusing on the effectivity of the network.
