The Aquatic Chaos in the Ancient Near Eastern Religions
Abstract:
Bakalářská práce se zabývá fenoménem akvatického chaosu v náboženských tradicích starověkého Předního východu. Autor se v práci věnuje semitským náboženským tradicím, reprezentovaným ugaritskými, akkadskými a biblickými mýty, přičemž stranou jsou ponechány ostatní tradice regionu. Hlavním cílem práce je ověřit tezi o akvatickém chaosu jako typickém rysu semitských mytologií.
Abstract:
Bachelor's thesis concern itself with phenomenon of aquatic chaos in religious traditions of the ancient Near East. Author in his work pursue semitic religious traditions, represented by Ugaritic, Akkadian and biblical myths, whereas he leaves aside other regional traditions. Main objective of the work is to verify thesis upon aquatic chaos being typical aspect of semitic mythologies.
