"Struwwelpeter", children book from Heinrich Hoffmann

Abstract:

This Thesis named “Der Struwwelpeter“, the child´s book by Heinrich Hoffmann, further on enlightens such a notions as literature for children, picture books and/or fairy-tales. Its main point focuses on the work, publication and life of Heinrich Hoffman in association with his child´s book called “Der Struwwelpeter”. My thesis is composed of nine chapters. In the first chapter I addicted myself to explanation of such topics as literature for children and teenagers , child´s book, fairy-tale and its genres. The second chapter is focused on the life and the publication of Wilhelm Busch, as well as on his child´s book named “ Max und Moritz” in comparison to the book “ Der Struwwelpeter” by Heinrich Hoffmann. The third chapter is devoted to the personal life and professional career of the German doctor Heirich Hoffmann. I have described the genesis of the book for children “ Der Struwwelpeter” in the forth chapter. I propped myself upon the facts which I mentioned in the first chapter. I also explained the term Struwwelpeter and informed about the fate that went along with the original impression of this book. The fift chapter is devoted to all metamorphoses through which this book had gone. The most important among all is the chapter is the sixth one. I focused there on every story of the book “Der Struwwelpeter” from psychological point of view. At the end of each chapter , there are some autobiographical moments taken from these analyses that I recognized in the book “Der Struwwelpeter”. In the seventh chapter I tried to accent a connection between all the information and moments mentioned in this thesis with the real life of Heinrich Hoffmann. The last two chapters are focused upon up-dating of the publication that used to be taken both as an instrument how to bring up children and also as an instrument of social critique (parody) .There is also mentioned the current form of this child´s book.

Tato diplomová Práce „Der Struwwelpeter“, das Kinderbuch von Heinrich Hoffmann blíže objasňuje pojmy dětská literatura, obrázková kniha a pohádka. Jejím hlavním bodem je práce, dílo a život Heinricha Hoffmanna v souvislosti s jeho dětskou knihou „Der Struwwelpeter“. Diplomová práce je rozčleněna do devíti kapitol. První kapitolu jsem věnovala vysvětlení pojmů dětská literatura a literatura pro mládež, současně také pojmu dětská kniha, pohádka a její žánry. Ve druhé kapitole se věnuji životu a dílu Wilhelma Busche a blíže jeho dětské knize „Max und Moritz“, jejím podobnostem a rozdílům s knihou „Der Struwwelpeter“ od Heinricha Hoffmanna. Třetí kapitola je věnovaná osobnímu i profesnímu životu německého lékaře Heinricha Hoffmanna. Ve čtvrté kapitole jsem se zaměřila na historii vzniku knihy pro děti „Der Struwwelpeter“. Opírám se o skutečnosti uvedené v první kapitole, vysvětluji pojem Struwwelpeter a informuji o osudu originálního vydání knihy. Pátá kapitola je věnována proměnám, kterými tato dětská kniha procházela. Stěžejní kapitolou je kapitola číslo šest. Zaměřuji se v ní na jednotlivé příběhy z knihy „Der Struwwelpeter“ a o jejich rozboru z hlediska psychoanalýzy. Na základě těchto poznatků jsou na závěr každé kapitoly uvedeny autobiografické momenty, které jsem v knize „Der Struwwelpeter“ vysledovat. V sedmé kapitole jsou shrnuté uvedené skutečnosti do souvislosti se skutečnými událostmi ze života Heinricha Hoffmanna. Poslední dvě kapitoly jsou věnované dobové aktualitě díla, které bylo chápáno jednak jako prostředek výchovy dítěte, jednak jako nástroj společenské kritiky (parodie). Současně je také uvedena aktualita této dětské knihy v dnešní době.
