Abstract:

Skupina f/64 byla volným sdružením fotografů ze západního pobřeží Ameriky. Její členové bojovali za to, aby fotografie byla uznána jako samostatné umění. Její vznik a působení bylo ve světě fotografie revoluční a přineslo zcela nový pohled na tuto technologii. Fotografie členů tohoto uskupení jsou typické svou ostrostí a vysokým kontrastem. Bakalářská práce sleduje tvorbu zátiší tří umělců této skupiny: Edwarda Westona, Imogen Cunningham a Willarda van Dyka. V práci jsou přiblíženy jednotlivé postupy umělců, techniky, s nimiž pracovali, a jaký měla Skupina f/64 vliv na jejich tvorbu.

Abstract:

The Group f/64 was a loose association of photographers from the west coast of America. Its members fought for photography to be recognized as an independent art. Its foundation and activities were revolutionary in the world of photography and brought a whole new perspective on this technology. The photographs by its members are typical for their sharpness and high contrast. The bachelor's thesis follows the still-life work of three artists of this group: Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham and Willard van Dyke. The thesis looks at the artists' individual processes, the techniques they used and the influence the Group f/64 had on their work.
