Eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices and their application in economical disciplines

Abstract:

Teorie vlastních čísel a vlastních vektorů matic je důležitou součástí lineární algebry a své uplatnění nachází v různých oblastech včetně ekonomických oborů a teorie rozhodování. Po uvedení definic a základních pojmů teorie následuje krátký historický přehled jejich vývoje. Model vícekriteriálního rozhodování založeného na teorii vlastních vektorů a vlastních čísel,který byl představen T. L. Saatym, je vysvětlen a ilustrován na příkladu.

Abstract:

Theory of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices is an important part of linear algebra and finds its applications in various areas including economic disciplines and theory of decision making. Introduction of definitions and basic concepts of the theory is followed by a short historical survey of its development. The model of multi-criteria decision making based on theory of eigenvectors and eigenvalues, which was introduced by T. L. Saaty, is explained and illustrated with an example.
