Intersection of the religious and secular world in The Three Kings Collection

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zodpovězení výzkumné otázky, jaké silné stránky, slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby (ve zkratce SWOT) se pojí s fenoménem charitativních akcí, jejichž úspěšnost je založena na kooperaci aktérů reprezentujících jak institucionální religiozitu, tak neinstitucionální religiozitu a sekulární sféru vůbec. Jednou z nich je Tříkrálová sbírka, kterou každoročně organizuje Charita Česká republika. Je to humanitární organizace zřizovaná Českou biskupskou konferencí, potažmo Římskokatolickou církví. Na Tříkrálové sbírce se podílejí a o jejím celkovém úspěchu rozhodují aktéři, kteří se nemusejí ztotožňovat ani s jednou z vyjmenovaných institucí. Pro zodpovězení výzkumné otázky bude nutné určit, jakým způsobem rozumí kooperaci či průniku náboženské a světské sféry v rámci zkoumané charitativní činnosti aktéři, kteří reprezentují různá sociální prostředí, různé zájmy, různé obrazy světa a s nimi spojené hodnotové systémy. Teoretickým základem práce bude pojem sekularizace a jeho kritické revize na půdě současné sociologie náboženství. Praktická část bude založena na kvalitativním výzkumu mezi účastníky Tříkrálové sbírky z obce Zašová na Valašsku.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to answer the research question, what strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (abbreviated as SWOT) are associated with the phenomenon of charitable events, the success of which is based on the cooperation of actors representing both institutional religiosity and non-institutional religiosity and the secular sphere in general. One of them is The Three Kings Collection, which is organized annually by Charita Česká republika. It is a humanitarian organization established by the Czech Bishops' Conference, i.e. the Roman Catholic Church. Actors who do not necessarily identify with any of the listed institutions participate in the Three Kings Collection and decide on its overall success. To answer the research question, it will be necessary to determine how actors who represent different social environments, different interests, different images of the world and associated value systems understand cooperation or the intersection of the religious and secular spheres within the framework of the researched charitable activity. The theoretical basis of the work will be the concept of secularization and its critical revision on the basis of contemporary sociology of religion. The practical part will be based on qualitative research among the participants of The Three Kings Collection from the village of Zašová in Wallachia.
