The Genius of Mircea Eliade

Abstract:

Naše práce se bude zabývat vynikajícím rumunským historikem náboženství, filosofem a spisovatelem Mirceou Eliadem. Přesněji řečeno budeme zkoumat jeho génia. Za pomocí primárních a sekundárních zdrojů budeme pátrat po tom, odkud se vlastně vzal, jaké myšlenky, zkušenosti a osobnosti ho napomohli vytvořit. Jak se mu mohlo podařit vykonat tak obrovské množství práce, když jinému by na to nestačilo ani několik životů. Budeme se ale také zamýšlet nad příčinami jisté kontroverznosti našeho autora, která vyvrcholila dočasnými sympatiemi směrem k rumunskému nacionalistickému hnutí, Železné gardě.

Abstract:

Our work deals with an outstanding Romanian historian of religion, philosopher and writer, Mircea Eliade. To be more precise we will scrutinize his genius. With help of primary and tangential sources we will look for the genius- where it came from, which thoughts, experience and personalities helped to create it. How he could do such huge amount of work, whereas for many others one life would not be sufficient. We will try to think over the cause of a kind of contraversity of our autor, which culminated in his temporary fondess of Romanian nationalist movement "Iron Gard".
