The bachelor´s thesis Alexandre Guilmant – Organ sonata No. 1 in d minor op. 42 is divided into two parts. The first part introduces life of this French composer in the context of his era, beginning from his school years until the end of his life. The second part focuses on Guilmant´s organ sonatas.
