The biochemistry of vision
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá procesem přenosu zrakového signálu z pohledu biochemie. Obsahuje informace o složení a mechanismu fungování lidského oka. Podrobněji se zaměřuje na biochemické reakce probíhající v sítnici po interakci fotonu viditelného záření s buňkami transformující světelnou energii na nervový signál. Závěrečná část se zabývá ochranou před oxidačním stresem.Abstract:
This bachelor thesis deals with composition and physiology of a human eye. When the photon of visible light is absorbed by a human retina, light energy induces hyperpolarization of specialized nerve cells. Involved chemical reactions are thoroughly described. The last part of this bachelor thesis deals with protection against oxidative stress.
