Cílem této práce je analýza vyobrazení asimilace postav první a druhé generace čínských imigrantů v románech The Joy Luck Club od Amy Tan a Typical American a Mona in the Promised Land od Gish Jen. Práce porovnává tyto dvě generace postav a poukazuje na to, že i když je téma asimilace využito oběma autorkami, každá ho ve svém díle popisuje jiným způsobem.Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the depiction of assimilation of the first and second generation of Chinese immigrant characters in the novels The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan and Typical American and Mona in the Promised Land by Gish Jen.
