The influence of literature and mass media on the development of children´s conception of heroism

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou dětských pojetí hrdinství. Zaměřuje se zejména na období prepubescence a pubescence, stručně popisuje vývoj jedinců v tomto období, kde se soustřeďuje zejména na deskripci vývoje psychických a kognitivních funkcí. Uvádí také vztah prepubescentních a pubescentních jedinců ke čtenářství a jejich preference žánrů. Vyčleňuje zde i další konkurenty četby a uvádí je do vztahu k četbě na základě preferencí cílové skupiny. Důraz je kladen na dětská pojetí, v souvislosti s nimi pojednává o terminologii, o jejich vzniku, vývoji a související problematice. Podstatná je zde i deskripce pojmu hrdina a hrdinství, které jsou nazírány z různých pohledů. Pojetí hrdiny i hrdinství prepubescenty a pubescenty je na základě provedeného výzkumu popsáno v empirické části, která také uvádí zjištěné rozdíly mezi pojetí chlapců a dívek, gymnaziálních žáků a žáků základních škol.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of children´s concenptions of heroism. It is focused on the period of prepupuberty and puberty, briefly describes the development of an individual in these periods and primarely describes the development of psychological and cognitive functions. It introduces also the attitude of individuals (in prepuberty and puberty) to reading and their preferences for literary genres. Other competitors of reading are also described in the relation to preferences of target group. The main focus of this work is on children´s conceptions, their terminology, origin, development and related issues. The description of a hero and heroism are observed from different points of view. The empirical part of this diploma thesis deals with children´s conceptions of a hero and heroism on the basic of research. There are also stressed the differences in conceptions of boys and girls, learners from basic schools and grammar schools.
