Dielectrical and Thermo-Mechanical Properties of Silica Filled Elastomer Compounds

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce studuje vliv siliky a silanů ve styren-butadienové matrici na chování ve střídavém elektrickém poli za pomoci dielektrické spektroskopie. Jsou studová-ny čtyři sady modelových směsí lišící se jednak stupněm plnění (30 a 95 DSK) a jednak typem silanů (OCTEO a TESPD) v různých koncentracích. Jsou identifikovány dva typy relaxačních mechanismů. První -relaxace polymerních řetězců není ovlivněna ani množ-stvím siliky ani koncentrací silanu ve směsi. Na druhou relaxaci charakterizující mezifázo-vou polarizaci nemá vliv množství siliky, ale působí na ni jak silan OCTEO, tak i silan TESPD, který jeví významnější vliv na relaxaci mezifází. K porovnání vlivu silanů na vý-sledné vlastnosti směsí jsou provedeny některé mechanické zkoušky. Výsledky ukazují, že v případě silanu TESPD probíhá v nízkých koncentracích zhuštění kaučukové sítě a ve vy-sokých koncentracích oba typy silanů (OCTEO i TESPD) vzhledem ke struktuře svých molekul dominují jako změkčovadla.

Abstract:

The presented thesis deals with an influence of both silica and silane amount incorporated within a polymer matrix onto electric properties studied by broadband dielectric spectros-copy. Four model systems of composites are designed varying in silica (30 phr and 95 phr) and silane concentrations (both OCTEO and TESPD are used in the same molar concentra-tion dependant on filler amount). Two relaxation mechanisms are identified. The first, -polarization assigned to segmental relaxation, is left unaffected by the silica and silane variations. The second, interphase polarization caused by trapping and accumula-tion of charges, is modified by every type of silane studied. In order to follow the macro-scopic properties of the studied composites some mechanical tests are performed. Results from mechanical testing show greater effect of silane type TESPD in comparison with type OCTEO. Both silanes in high concentrations tend to behave as softeners.
