Kateřina Šedá's events as a type of socio-art and site-specific art

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje projekty Kateřiny Šedé z hlediska socio-artu a site-specific artu. Kateřina Šedá je umělkyně, která se ve své práci zaměřuje na budování mezilidských vztahů. Její sociální intervence do života komunit se snaží vyvést zúčastněné ze zažitých stereotypů nebo sociální izolace. Cílem této práce je tedy ukázat, jakým způsobem vytváří sociální projekty v prostorovém kontextu, jinými slovy, jak pracuje s lidmi na daném místě. Práce rovněž srovnává její činnost s teoretickým konceptem Josepha Beuyse a s některými akcemi soudobého participativního umění.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes Kateřina Šedá’s projects from the social art and site-specific art views. Kateřina Šedá is the artist whose work focuses on making interpersonal relationships. Her social interventions into the lives of some communities try to take the participants out from routine or social isolation. Thus, the purpose of this thesis is to show how she creates social projects on the background of different sites or, in other words, how she works with place and people. Her work is also compared with Joseph Beuys’s theoretical concept and with some events of the contemporary participatory art.
