Integration of pupils with mental retardation into regular secondary school classroom

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou inkluzivního vzdělávání. Práce je zaměřena na oblast individuální integrace žáka s lehkou mentální retardací do běžné třídy střední školy. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí – teoretickou část a část praktickou. Cílem teoretické části je definovat pojem integrace/inkluze, mentální retardace, lehká mentální retardace a vymezit možnosti vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením. Metodou teoretické části je studium odborných literárních zdrojů, dokumentů školy (školní vzdělávací program, individuální vzdělávací plán), tvorba výpisků, jejich analýza, syntéza. V praktické části je cílem zhodnotit připravenost učitelů středních škol/středních odborných škol na integraci žáků s lehkou mentální retardací. Respondenti byli učitelé střed-ních škol/středních odborných škol z okolí Brna, Blanska, Chomutova a Olomouce. Výzkumná část je založena na kvalitativním přístupu. Použita byla metoda rozhovoru. Získaná data z rozhovoru byla zpracována a pro větší objektivnost výsledků je výzkum doložen dotazníkovým šetřením. Na základě zhodnocení stavu jsou navrhnuta možná aktiva pro zlepšení inkluzivního vzdělávání a doporučení pro pedagogickou praxi.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of inclusive education. This thesis is focused on an individual integration of pupils with mild mental retardation into regular high school class. This thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical part. The aim of the theoretical part is to define the concept of integration/inclusion, mental retardation, mild mental retardation and to define possibilities of education of pupils with mental disabilities. The method of the theoretical part is studying reference books, school documents (school educational program, individual educational plan), creation of excerpts, analysis, synthesis. The goal of the practical part is to assess readiness of secondary school teachers/vocational secondary schools teachers to integrate students with mild mental retardation. Our respondents were teachers from high schools/vocational secondary schools from Brno, Blansko, Chomutov and Olomouc. The research is based on a qualitative approach where the interview method was used. The data obtained from the interview were processed and, for greater objectivity of results, the research is documented by questionnaires. Based on the assessment of the situation, possible assets to improve inclusive education are suggested as well as recommendations for pedagogical practice.
