Public attitude to homoparental parenthood from the view of same-sex couples

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Přístup veřejnosti k homoparentálnímu rodičovství očima stejnopohlavních párů“ se věnuje životu homoparentálních rodičů v českém prostředí a jejich vnímání reakcí okolí a postoje státu k jejich rodině. Práce je tak zaměřena na osobní zkušenosti rodičů z homoparentálních rodin a jejich náhled na to, jak je česká společnost přijímá. Tato práce má za cíl zjistit, jak se v České republice stejnopohlavním párům vychovávajícím dítě žije a jak tyto páry vnímají reakce sociálního okolí významných druhých a širšího sociálního okolí na jejich rodinné upořádání. Teoretická část práce je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních kapitol věnovaných teoretickým východiskům práce, které se týkají zejména právě problematiky pozice homoparentálních rodin ve společnosti. V empirické části práce je poté obsažen kvalitativní výzkum, který jsem vedla za pomoci polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s rodiči z homoparentálních rodin. Získaná data jsem analyzovala pomocí otevřeného kódování.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis called “Public attitude to homoparental parenthood from the view of same-sex couples“ is devoted to the lives of same sex parents in the Czech context and how they perceive reactions of the public and the approach of the state towards their family. Thus, the thesis is aimed at personal experiences of parents of homoparental families and their view of how the Czech society is accepting them. The aim of this thesis is to find out how lives of same sex couples raising a child in the Czech republic are and how these couples perceive reactions to their family arrangement of social environment of significant others and of a wider social environment. The theoretical part is divided into four main chapters devoted to theoretical resources of the thesis, which concern mainly the problematics of position of homoparental families in society. In the empirical part there is included the qualitative research which I conducted with help of semi structured interviews with parents of homoparental families. I analysed the received data based on open coding.
