The Poetics of Time and Space in the Selected Works of Jean Cocteau

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na analýzu části tvorby Jeana Cocteaua dostupné v češtině, přičemž klade důraz na čas, prostor a motivy jako klíčové kategorie pro pochopení básníkovy poetiky. Po vymezení a kontextualizaci autora následuje analýza poetiky jeho děl, jež je provedena na filmu Krev básníka. Následující kapitoly jsou věnované času a prostoru v konkrétních textech a motivům, které tyto dvě kategorie provázejí a dokreslují. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována filmové tvorbě autora, jež představuje nejautobiografičtější část jeho díla. Celá práce směřuje k využití obsahu při výuce na středních školách, její součástí je proto také návrh didaktického materiálu pro využití v hodinách literatury na SŠ a jeho praktické ověření.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes a part of Jean Cocteau's work available in Czech, especially from perspective of time, space and motives as fundamental categories for understanding the poet's poetics. After defining and contextualizing the author, the analysis of his work’s poetics follows, which is conducted on the film The Blood of a Poet. The following chapters are dedicated to time and space in specific texts and motives that accompany and complement these two categories. Considerable attention is devoted to the author's film work, which is the most autobiographical part of his work. The entire work is aimed at using the content in teaching at secondary schools, therefore it also includes the proposal of didactic material to be used in literature classes at secondary schools and its practical verification.
