Analysis of changes in consumer behavior due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá výsledky a dopady pandemie COVID-19 na spotřebitelské chování a ekonomiky po celém světě. Cílem této práce bylo analyzovat změny v chování spotřebitelů se všemi faktory, které jej ovlivňují, a trendy světové ekonomiky během šíření viru. Výsledky této práce jsou založeny na sekundárním výzkumu, který byl proveden analýzou mnoha studií provedených v různých částech světa, které se liší od dotazníkových průzkumů až po hloubková šetření. V průběhu analýzy bylo zjištěno, že globální digitalizace je zapotřebí více než kdy jindy kvůli mnoha překážkám, které představují ohniska viru, a které jsou přítomny dodnes. Mnoho lidí muselo zůstat doma, takže mnoho outdoorových aktivit a povinností bylo téměř nemožné splnit. Lidé tak obrátili svou plnou pozornost k internetovým aktivitám. Ekonomika se zastavila, což mělo za následek, že mnoho podniků a korporací, stejně jako vlády, museli přijmout naléhavá opatření ke zkrocení účinků pandemie. Tato práce popisuje všechny výše uvedené změny ve světě a také poskytuje rady ohledně akcí, které lze vzít v úvahu za účelem urychlení hospodářského oživení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the results and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on consumer behavior and economies worldwide. The aim of this work was to analyze changes in consumer behavior with all the factors that affect it, and the trends of the world economy during the spread of the virus. The results of this work are based on secondary research, which was carried out by analyzing many studies from different parts of the world, which vary from questionnaire surveys to in-depth investigations. In the course of the analysis, it was found that global digitization is needed more than ever because of the many obstacles posed by outbreaks of the virus and which are present to this day. Many people had to stay at home, so many outdoor activities and duties were almost impossible to fulfill. Thus, people turned their full attention to internet activities. The economy stalled, resulting in many businesses and corporations, as well as governments, having to take urgent measures to tame the effects of the pandemic. This work describes all the above changes in the world and also gives advices on actions that can be taken into account in order to accelerate the economic recovery.
