Social Democratics parties of Great Britain, France and Germany and their influence within S&D

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá postavením sociálně demokratických politických stran Velké Británie (Labour Party), Francie (Parti socialiste) a Německa (SPD) v rámci frakce S&D v Evropském parlamentu. Práce má za cíl na základě analýzy jmenovitých hlasování sledovat, nakolik jsou tyto strany loajální vůči své frakci, případně do jaké míry se s frakcí rozcházejí, a zda-li jsou či naopak nejsou součástí vedlejších názorových proudů. Text práce je dělen do dvou základních částí. První část je zaměřena na charakteristiku trojice zkoumaných stran a frakce, když zmiňuje jejich historii, pozici na národní politické scéně a vývoj výsledků ve volbách do Evropského parlamentu. Druhá část práce je věnována samotné analýzou jmenovitých hlasování v období leden – červen 2013, společně s nastavením podmínek pro výzkum. Celé sledované období je následně na základě zjištěných výsledků shrnuto a tyto výsledky jsou poté reflektovány v závěru práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the role of social democratic political parties of Great Britain (Labour Party), France (Parti socialiste) and Germany (SPD) within S&D fraction in the European Parliament. The main goal of this bachelor work is to monitor, based on the analysis of roll-call-votes, the extent of the parties' loyalty to their fraction, possibly the extent to which they differ from the fraction as well as whether they are or are not a part of side opinion flows. Thesis is divided into two major parts. The first part focuses on the characteristics of three examined parties and the fraction as it mentions their history, position on the national political scene and development of results in the European Parliament elections. The second part is dedicated to the analysis of roll-call-votes in the period from January to June 2013, along with the setting of conditions for research. The whole period is then summarized and these results are reflected in the conclusion.
