Care of surgical instruments in clinical practice

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje především na péči o chirurgické instrumentarium na pracovištích centrální sterilizace. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a výzkumnou. Teoretická část diplomové práce se zaobírá problematikou péče o chirurgické instrumentarium z pohledu perioperační sestry. Tato část je zaměřena hlavně na všechny kroky předsterilizační přípravy a samotnou sterilizaci. Poslední kapitola je věnována pracovišti centrální sterilizace. Výzkumná část je rozdělená na dvě části, první zaměřená na dodržování zásad správné péče o chirurgické instrumentarium metodou pozorování na centrálních sterilizacích v pěti vybraných nemocnicích. Druhá část se věnuje testování chirurgického instrumentaria v klinické praxi. Na základě získaných dat je vyhodnocen vliv předsterilizační přípravy a sterilizace na vybrané chirurgické instrumentarium.

Abstract:

Master´s thesis focuses primarily on the care of surgical instruments, as the name implies. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and research. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of care for surgical instruments from the perspective of perioperative nurse. This part is focused mainly on all steps of pre-sterilization preparation and sterilization itself. The last chapter is devoted to the central sterilization department. The research part focuses on observance of principles of proper care of surgical instruments by method of observation on central sterilizations in five selected hospitals. The second part deals with testing of surgical instruments in clinical practice. Based on the obtained data influence of pre-sterilization preparation and sterilization on selected surgical instruments is evaluated.
