The quantitative analysis of Královédvorský rukopis

Abstract:

Práce přidává k dosavadnímu rozsáhlému rukopisnému bádání další malý díl. Nejprve je představena matematická lingvistika, její historie, předmět a části. Pak jsou stručně připomenuty nejdůležitější výzkumy Rukopisu a citovány jejich výsledky. Práce se především zaměřuje na porovnání jednotlivých písní Rukopisu pomocí kvantitativní lingvistiky. Jsou uvedeny základní veličiny kvantitativní lingvistiky a podmínky pro výběr užitých veličin. Písně jsou analyzovány z hlediska kanonického Mandelbrotova zákona, entropie a teorie slovních délek. Teorie slovních délek je novou oblastí v matematickém modelování v jazykovědě. Za předpokladu, že Rukopis je podvrh, je případná odlišnost těchto kvantitativních charakteristik nepřímou indicií, že autorem Rukopisu je více osob. Je naznačena pochybnost, zda je jazyk dostatečně neživý na to, aby mohl být zkoumán mechanickými, téměř fyzikálními kvantitativními metodami. Text práce je oživován verši z přebásnění Rukopisu Kamilem Bednářem.

Abstract:

This thesis adds to the research about the Manuscript of Dvůr Králové another small part. At the beginning there is introduced mathematical linguistics, its history, subject and parts. Then there are mentioned the most important researches of Manuscript and quoted their results. The thesis is above all concentrated on the comparison of songs of Manuscript by quantitative linguistics. There are mentioned basic quantities of quantitative linguistics and conditions for their selection. The songs are analysed from the point of view of the code of Mandelbrot, entropy and word-length theory. The word-length theory is a new part of the mathematical modelling in linguistics. The premise was the Manuscript is a spurious document. If the quantitative characteristics of songs are different, the Manuscript might be spurioused by more then one author. There exist some doubts about the language being lifeless enough to be analysed by mechanical, almost physical quantitative methods. The text of the thesis is enliven by verses from the modern version of Manuscript by Kamil Bednář.
