Using ArcGIS for data processing of airborne laser scanning data

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá využitím dat leteckého laserového skenování k tvorbě digitálního modelu terénu. Teoretická část práce je věnována principům a využití leteckého laserového skenování, filtraci naměřených dat a popisu výškopisných databází České republiky. V praktické části diplomové práce je ukázán postup tvorby digitálního modelu reliéfu a digitálního modelu povrchu z dat leteckého laserového skenování nad vybranými územími. V prostředí software ArcGIS je prakticky ukázána tvorba různých typů pohledových pyramid a celý proces tvorby výškopisného modelu je automatizován pomocí skriptu v programovacím jazyce Python. Vytvořené digitální modely terénu jsou analyzovány a vzájemně porovnány. Výsledkem analýzy je pak soubor doporučení k metodám tvorby digitálních modelů terénu v prostředí ArcGIS v závislosti na typu terénu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the usage of aerial laser scanning data for the purpose of creating a digital terrain model. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the rules, filtering and the usage of aerial laser scanning and describes hypsography databases of the Czech Republic as well. The practical part of the thesis explores the procedure of creating digital ground model and digital surface model based on aerial laser scanning data of selected areas. In software ArcGIS both creation of various types of terrain pyramids and the whole process of creating hypsography model automated through the script in programming language Python are practically shown there. The created digital terrain models are analysed and confronted. Then the result of the analysis is a set of suggestions for the methods used for creation of digital terrain models in ArcGIS according to the type of terrain.
